Here we are discussing about the two fast performing mid-weight naked motorcycles that have grabbed much attention from the audience - Ducati Monster 821 and Kawasaki Z800.


Style and look

The Ducati Monster 821 is a premium entry-level motorcycle from the street. The motorcycle looks very beautiful with its red-colored visible frame, a compact sporty front mud-guard, wide fuel tank and compact headlight. The engine is combined with a two-into-two exhaust that looks very stunning. The naked street-fighter uses LED screen instead of TFT display. The solo saddle looks very promising for a comfortable sitting position, whereas the broad tyres give a bulky stance to the motorcycle.

The Z800 is a naked street fighter from Kawasaki two-wheeler makers. The motorcycle gets most of design and body cues from its elder sibling, Z1000. The motorcycle is featured with an aggressive headlight, massive fuel tank and side fairing that look very striking. However, it carries total weighs of 231 KG that is very light in comparison of Ducati Monster 821. The nose down and tail up stance gives a super naked attitude to the motorcycle.

Power and Performance


The Monster 821 is a third generation motorcycle from the Ducati's line-up. The motorcycle has received a refined engine compartment that returns incredible performance and power output. Whereas, the latest generation technology like riding modes and traction control system make it more than a powerful machine for the track. The manufacturer has introduced  with three riding modes- Sport, Touring and Urban mode. Every mode return different power and torque. The Monster 821 is powered by a 821cc Testastretta 11 degree L-twin and liquid-cooled engine which returns 112 HP of power at 9250 RPM and 89.4 NM of torque at 7750 RPM. The fuel injected technology system has been used to enhance the overall performance and power output as well as gives excellent throttle response.

The Kawasaki Z800 is powered by the liquid-cooled inline-four 806cc engine that delivers 113 PS of peak power at 10,200 RPM and 83 Nm of torque at 8,000 RPM. All the power output is kept under controlled by a six speed transmission. The engine is programmed with an electronic fuel injection system that gives excellent throttle response, whereas the ride-by-wire technology flow the power output in a well manner. In just 3.5 second, the motorcycle can reach  between the 0-100 KMPH, while Kawasaki claims a top speed of 233 KMPH.

Handling quality


The Monster 821 has a dynamic riding character as it has a compact handlebar, comfortable solo saddle and wide fuel tank which provides ample ride quality in the city streets. The motorcycle is assembled on stiff Tubular steel trellis frame which offers excellent stability on the track and even in the city traffic. The handling quality is very excellent as it has a responsive handlebar and foot pegs gives sportier riding position to the riders.

The riding posture offered by the Kawasaki Z800 is no less than any racing sports motorcycle performing over race tracks. The straight line handlebar, puffed-up fuel tank, accurately positioned foot-pegs are accompanied with beautifully shaped-up seat, giving you solo riding experience.
